Their first “Flapjacks” was in Carefree, AZ.  In 2000 they opened JP Pancake in Scottsdale, where over the course of 7 years they were honored multiple times in Best of Phoenix New Times.  The Allen’s decided to sell and move their breakfast business to Fountain Hills in 2008.


Within a few short days after opening, the Allen’s were packing hungry people through the doors, everyone anxiously awaiting the treats that Flapjacks offers.   


Married for 27 years, Mark and Donna have lived in the Phoenix area for 13 years.  They chose to do breakfast because the daytime hours granted family time at home with their son, Perry.   Although he is now away at college, the Allen’s have learned that breakfast and lunch is their specialty and they’ll stick with it! 

Owners, Mark and Donna Allen take their job seriously, but not too seriously.  Breakfast should be fun, and it is at Flapjacks.


Born and raised in the New York restaurant industry, Mark brings years of experience into his work.  Mark is classically trained having studied at The Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, NY.
